All children receive regular homework. The most important and regular work that a child can do at home is reading. From reception age children are encouraged to develop the habit of taking a book home several times a week and reading/discussing their book with their primary carer. The level and amount of homework increases as children move through the school.
Each half-term, children are given a weekly "Homework Menu." This contains a variety of activities to complete at home linked to our current history/ grography topic. In Key Stage One, children complete one task a fortnight. In Key Stage Two children complete one task a week. They can choose which tasks to complete and which order they complete the activities, but must complete a maths and English related task each half term. They will also have weekly spellings and maths learn its to learn and these are tested weekly.
The full homework policy can be downloaded from the Documents page.
